Funny thing, I was having a conversation with a colleague one day about still life. We were discussing how we would like to see something different. That was the first spark. This painting completed itself – I was only the instrument. There was this crazy, wild energy flowing, (flying really,) around the studio as the paints were applied with abandon and control all at the same time. Then it was the ink’s turn – first it was subtle, then it wanted a much stronger voice, and finally it just took over, and yes, it was fun.
